5 ways to stay healthy this winter

Thinking of ways to stay healthy is something all of us have done at some point, but with the nights are closing in, summer sunshine feels like it is a thing of the past and the scramble for the hat and scarf officially upon us it’s essential we take extra care of our bodies and minds, now more than ever.

To help we’ve put these juicy tips together to help you stay as fit and healthy as possible.

1. Boost your immune system with Wild Juice Co.

When we say that our juices are designed to re-energise and rejuvenate your body at a cellular level, we mean it.

Each juice in our plan has amazing health benefits and most important of all during winter, they give your immune system an invaluable boost.

When we created our Wild Juice Co. plans we had the aim of being kind to both your body and the world around us which is why we only use 100% organic fruit and veg that is locally sourced where possible.

In addition to the delicious fruit and veg that we pack into every bottle, we also ensure that every plan includes 9 superfoods, which posses a host of properties that improve wellness and your overall health, each of which combines to ensure you receive a well-rounded boost to your body, helping you hit your health goals in the process.

Acai, which you’ve probably seen in smoothie bowls all over Instagram, is a great addition to some of our juices as it’s one of the most powerful immune-boosting superfoods.

But the good times don’t stop there. Acai is also rich in antioxidants, can help increase your energy levels as well as brain function and is good for your skin.

Some of our juices also include ginger and turmeric, which are great anti-inflammatories which can also improve your immune system.

Combine all this and our juices can help you look and feel your best all winter long.

2. Stay hydrated

Staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water isn’t just an essential aspect of our juice cleanse plans, it’s something that everyone should aim to do in every walk of life.

Making sure you are properly hydrated can help reduce fatigue, boost your energy levels both of which are essential if you want to make sure your body is in the best position to fight off illness during winter.

Drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins from the body whilst also improving liver and kidney function, ensuring your body is healthy long after the cold months subside.

3. Look after your skin

Winter doesn’t just take its toll on your state of mind or your internal immune system, the cold weather can also have a detrimental effect on your skin.

Staying healthy can be difficult enough, without the thought of skin irritation or soreness being added into the mix.

In addition to a healthy sleep routine, try to incorporate a skincare regime. This doesn’t mean that you have to horde lotions and potions, instead, focus on 2 or three high-quality products that will keep your skin moisturised and ready to take on whatever the weather has to throw at it.

4. Stay active

Lazy days on the couch in front of a log burning fire, wrapped in a blanket and cup of hot chocolate in hand. It’s the Hollywood scene we all dream of when winter comes, but if you’re looking to stay healthy this winter then you might not want to recreate this idyllic scene too often.

Staying active isn’t just a fair-weather pass time, even in winter it’s essential you exercise. Not only will it help keep your body physically strong, but it can have a positive effect on your mental wellbeing as well, whether it be a brisk walk in the winter air with loved ones, or a HIIT workout or anything in between, do what you can and do your best to stay active and reward yourself with that comfy chair in front of the log fire when you’re done.

5. Make sure you catch plenty of Zs

Sleep is perhaps one of the most vital aspects of staying healthy both in mind and body. If you struggle to get enough sleep it could leave you far from your best and it could have a significant impact on your brain function.

A lack of sleep can leave you feeling grumpy, tired, stressed and far from your WILDEST self.

Whilst the NHS explains that it is the quality of sleep that you have that matters rather than a specific amount of time, it is widely recognised that the optimal amount of sleep is between 7-9 hours per night.

Sleep also affects the way your body operates and not getting enough can result in your immune system being weaker than usual.

So make sure you get yourself into a healthy sleep pattern to help yourself stay juicy and help stave off illness this winter.

Whether you’re looking to boost your immune system ahead fo the winter months ahead or looking to hit more specific health goals our juice plans provide a zesty pick me up that help you achieve your goals, and they’re so delicious you’ll be craving more, long after your juice plan has ended.
