What is CBD?

You’ve probably heard CBD mentioned in the news and online, but what is it exactly? It’s a question we get asked a lot.

CBD otherwise known as Cannabidiol is one of over 100 chemical compounds found within the cannabis plant and it has been suggested in some studies that it may help with a variety of health-related issues.

The oil itself is extracted directly from the cannabis plant.

Will I get high from CBD?

When people hear that CBD is derived from cannabis they automatically assume that they will get high when consuming it, however, this isn’t the case, you will not get high from taking it.

CBD is often mistaken for Tetrahydrocannabinol otherwise known as THC. The key difference between the two is that THC is a psychoactive chemical that gives the sensation of feeling high.

CBD is not psychoactive and therefore cannot make you ‘high’.

How much CBD oil will be used in each bottle?

If you choose to add CBD to your juicetox you will be getting 5mg per 250ml bottle, which means you will be taking 25mg per day which is within the suggested amount from ongoing research taking place. The required dosage can vary from person to person depending on many factors.

Is CBD addictive?

Because it doesn’t produce the high associated with THC the potential for abuse is considered limited by scientists.

A March 2017 study published in the Journal of Drug and Alcohol Dependence examined details of a previous study where researchers administered various oral dosages to candidates and it had as much likelihood for abuse as the placebo used in the study.

Can I take CBD if I am taking other medication?

If you are taking other medications you should consult your doctor before using CBD of any sort.

What are the benefits of CBD?

In a study by The US National Library of Medicine, they highlight that Cannabis has been used across the world for medicinal purposes for thousands of years, dating back to 2,900BC.

However, there has been increased research in the past 50 years into the specific health benefits of cannabis and in particular CBD and they have found that it can have beneficial pain-relieving effects in addition to helping your general health.

It can help with anxiety and depression

The charity, Mind have revealed that mental health issues are on the rise in the UK, and anxiety and depression are in the top 10 list of contributors to the cause of disability according to the World Health Organization.

Studies have shown that CBD can offer a natural alternative to pharmaceuticals for those looking to treat their anxiety or depression.

It may also help with sleep disorders that can contribute to feelings of anxiety and depression.

Improve skin

The health of your skin can be affected by a number of contributing factors including genetics, inflammation and bacteria.

The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD can help reduce inflammation and help reduce the appearance of oily skin thanks to its natural ability to reduce the production of Sebum, an oily substance produced by glands in the skin.

Pain relief

Need a helping hand with pain relief? CBD could hold the key. CBD assists with pain relief by impacting neurotransmissions that give the signal that your body is in pain.

Healthline has highlighted that studies have shown that CBD oil may be able to benefit those suffering from symptoms caused by, Arthritis, chronic pain, MS pain and spinal cord injuries in addition to many more causes of pain.
