Why is being an organic juice important to us? It’s a question we’ve been asked a lot and so we thought we’d share a little bit about why we have and always will use organic fruit and vegetables to create the juices you know and love and more delicious products we have planned in the future.
Organic juices that are here to stay
Ever since Wild Juice blossomed into existence, we’ve placed organic produce at the heart of everything we do, literally!
We work with local suppliers who grow some of the most delicious organic fruit and vegetables in Cheshire to provide us with as many of our ingredients as possible. Sadly, there are times where we can’t get everything we need locally, but we will always go the extra mile to be as eco-friendly as possible when sourcing an alternative and you can rest assured that anything we use is organic.
We’ve also started some exciting work here at Wild Juice towers to expand our fruit and veg plot and we’ve made a promise to grow at least 65 per cent of our own ingredients here on our grounds.
Why is organic produce so important to us?
Not only is organic produce tasty, but it’s also kind to our planet and often kinder to our bodies too.
When we create each juice, we look at how it can help our customers be their best self both inside and out and so using organic produce was a no-brainer.
Organic farming helps pollinators
One of the most important types of animals on the planet is the humble bee. They’re vital to ensuring plants get pollinated and that includes food that humans eat. However, some farming methods that aren’t organic use herbicides and pesticides that can’t tell the difference between a helpful bee and a green fly or another form of ‘bad bug’.
As a result, bee numbers decline and that can tip the balance of mother nature with disastrous results in the future.
Organic farming helps avoid this and helps biodiversity thrive.
Organic juices can contain more nutritional value
Because organic fruits and vegetables are grown in nutrient-rich soil that is free from chemicals and synthetic fertilisers, it stands to reason that when they’re juiced they’re going to help create a juice that packs more goodness into it than a non-organic alternative.
The rich soil can also help promote better flavour too!
You can help save the planet by choosing organic
Because organic farming methods are less harmful to our environment than non-organic methods, by choosing to buy organic produce or products like ours that exclusively use organic produce, you are increasing the demand and that can play a key role in combating climate change.
According to U.S. scientist and Associate Director of Science Programs at The Organic Center Dr. Tracy Misiewicz, organic agriculture can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and how they are a good defence against pests extreme weather events like floods and droughts.
